The problem with the plastic pick

Sixty seconds in your mouth.
Centuries in the ground.

Most floss picks are petroleum plastic, and many conventional flosses are coated with PFAS — the “forever chemicals.” You use a pick for about a minute. The planet keeps it far, far longer.

The pick, perfected

Everything a floss pick should be.
Nothing it shouldn’t.

01

Shred-resistant thread

Strong floss that glides through tight contacts and comes out in one piece — no fraying, no fibres left behind.

03

Honestly unflavored

No mint burn, no coatings, no artificial anything. Just clean — ideal for sensitive mouths and picky palates.

Easy-grip handle

A plant-based handle contoured to stay put between your fingers — full control all the way to the back molars.

04

Built to break down

Biodegradable by design. When its sixty seconds are up, tēra starts its journey back to the earth — not to a landfill ledger.

The ritual

Slide. Glide.
Toss without guilt.

1

Slide

The contoured grip settles between your fingers. Guide the pick gently between two teeth.

2

Glide

Curve the floss against each tooth and sweep below the gumline. The thread stays whole — no shredding mid-clean.

3

Let go

Done in a minute. Toss it knowing it’s built to break down — not to outlive your grandchildren.

Good questions

Everything you’d want to ask.

What does “biodegradable” actually mean here?

The pick is made from plant-based materials designed to break down naturally over time — unlike petroleum-plastic picks, which can persist for centuries. Dispose of used picks in household waste; floss picks are not recyclable in most municipal programs.

Why PFAS-free, and why does it matter?

PFAS (“forever chemicals”) are sometimes used to make floss glide. They don’t break down in the environment — or in you. tēra’s floss is engineered to glide without them.

Why unflavored?

Flavor means coatings, and coatings mean additives. Unflavored floss is gentler for sensitive mouths, kids, and anyone who doesn’t want a chemical mint burn at 7 a.m.

Will the floss shred between tight teeth?

The thread is high-tenacity and shred-resistant — built to slide through tight contacts and come back out in one piece.

How many picks come in a pack?

200 picks per pack — a daily floss habit covered for over six months.

Better for your mouth. Gentler on the earth.
